Jesse Matthew's Fairfax Trial May Be Delayed

Defense attorneys seeking to push back trial on attempted murder and other charges in 2005 case: media reports.

Attorneys for Jesse Matthew, the man charged in the disappearance of a University of Virginia student last fall, are trying to delay a trial in an unrelated case of attempted murder, according to media reports.

A judge is expected to hear arguments Friday on the motion, according to the Washington Post. Matthew, 32, of Charlottesville, is accused of abducting, sexually assaulting and attempting to kill a Fairfax City woman in 2005.
