Two People Maced Inside Vehicle, One Kicked Repeatedly: Police

City of Fairfax Police charged a man and a woman in connection with an attack on two people in the Advance Auto Parts parking lot on Monday.

FAIRFAX, VA — City of Fairfax Police charged a man and a woman in connection with an attack on two people in a parking lot Monday evening.

The two people were sitting inside a vehicle parked in the Advance Auto Parts lot at 9738 Fairfax Blvd. in the early evening hours on Monday when they were approached by two acquaintances, who then sprayed them with mace, the police said Wednesday.

One victim, after getting out of the vehicle, was then kicked repeatedly, police said. The suspects then fled the area.

Both victims were taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

With the assistance of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Melinda Halteh, 34 of Fairfax and Joshua Hebb, 36, of Annandale were arrested, Fairfax City Police said.

Halteh was charged with one count of malicious wounding, two counts of bodily injury by means of caustic substance and one count of assault and battery. Hebb was charged with one count of malicious wounding and one count of assault and battery.

Halteh and Hebb were being held at the Fairfax County Adult Center on no bond, the police said Wednesday.
