Update: Police Working To ID Body Found in Huntsman Lake

Fairfax County police detectives are working to identify the body of a woman found Sunday morning in Huntsman Lake, in the Springfield/Burke area north of the Fairfax County Parkway.

Kayakers discovered the body floating in the water at around 10:30 a.m. and contacted police. The body was removed from the lake Sunday afternoon, police said.
Detectives are looking into missing person’s reports and other information to determine the woman’s identity, the police said Monday morning.

WJLA-TV Channel 7 reported that the body was floating about 15 feet from the shore, and the woman was wearing a gray tank top and blue jeans.
The police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. A state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of the woman’s death.
