VA Prostitution Enterprise Garners 2 Years In Jail For NJ Man
A New Jersey man was sentenced in federal court Friday for transporting two women across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
VIRGINIA — Rockwell Woodrow Pohlig, 30, of Stratford, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years in prison Friday for transporting two women across state lines so they could engage in prostitution, according to a U.S. Justice Department release.
Pohlig transported the two women to the Eastern District of Virginia in April 2020 after he had convinced one of the woman they were in a relationship and should start a business together, according to court documents. Pohlig told the other woman she was indebted to him since he had recently paid the funeral expenses of one of her family members.
When the two women arrived in Virginia, Pohlig said they needed to participate in commercial sex in order to pay him back. He told one of the women to begin advertising online for prostitution services. He also paid another woman to travel to Virginia to engage in prostitution.
