Virginia Lottery Winner In Fairfax Nets $100K Twice

A Fairfax woman playing Virginia Lottery's Cash 5 game used the same winning numbers for two winning tickets. Prize? $200,000.

FAIRFAX, VA — A Fairfax woman recently bought two Cash 5 lottery tickets at the Harris Tetter, 3905 Fair Ridge Drive. Rather than switch it up with a different number for the second ticket, she used the same five numbers and the same "lucky number five for both. Good thing for her that she made such a call.

That's because her numbers were a match, so instead of winning $100,000, she wound up winning $200,000. The winning numbers were 8-12-15-29-32. Dolatshahi said she and her husband probably will use the winnings for a vacation, preferably at a beach. The odds of winning the top prize: 1 in 278,256.
