Virginia's Safest Cities: Fairfax, at No. 17, Among Several NOVA Locales
Regarding violent crime and property crime, according to FBI statistics, Fairfax ranks low; others in the region rank lower.

Attention citizens of the City of Fairfax: All is well. You're one of the safest cities in Virginia.
At least in terms of crime.
Undoubtedly with no small amount of civic pride, the city posted a story on its website Wednesday touting the fact that security services aggregator SafeWise had ranked it among the top 20 safest cities in the state based on the most recent FBI crime report.

Fairfax checks in at a none-too-shabby No. 17.
But what the release didn't reveal is that five other cities in Northern Virginia are ranked ahead of Fairfax.

Vienna is ranked 8th, Manassas Park 9th, Herndon 13th, Leesburg 14th and Falls Church 16th.
The safest city in Virginia? Bridgewater, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.
No other Northern Virginia cities were ranked in the top 20.
The study was based on the likelihood among 1,000 people of the following things happening: reported violent crime and property crime.
Regarding violent crime, Fairfax was .74; property crime, 17.09.
