1 Killed In Beltway Collusion Between Volkeswagen And Dump Truck In Fairfax

FAIRFAX, VA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Thursday morning on the Capital Beltway in Fairfax, according to a police release.

Troopers responded at 2:59 a.m. for the report of a crash on I-495 North in the access lanes to Route 50, where a Volkswagen and dump truck had collided. Rescue personnel confirmed one fatality at the scene of the crash and one person was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatneing injuries.

VSP has not released the identities of either the victim or the injured person.
