Want to Run for Mayor? Deadline Wednesday in Fairfax
Fairfax is having the special election Feb. 7 as a result of the resignation of former mayor Scott Silverthorne, caught in a meth sting.

FAIRFAX, VA — As a friendly service to residents, the City of Fairfax sent out a simple and straightforward email alert to residents Monday morning titled: "Want to run for Mayor?"
Well, if you do, if you've carefully been mulling your decision for quite some time or just have a wild hair, the city provided a reminder that Wednesday is the last day you can submit documents to qualify to run.
Anyone who does, in fact, want to possibly occupy an office that has had quite the bumpy ride over the past several months can pick up a packet with instructions at the Sisson House, 10455 Armstrong Street, next to City Hall.
