Washington Gas will work with its contractors, as well as the appropriate city staff, to ensure all parties are aware of their presence in the community and their roles in the project.

Washington Gas and its contractors will re-examine their outreach and make sure they more clearly explain options to the customers regarding meter location, interior work, and gas service line sizes. Washington Gas confirmed that this work is done at no cost to the customer; however, gas service shutoff is a potential outcome of not allowing for the necessary meter relocation – but is a consideration only after extensive outreach, and as a last resort.

Washington Gas and its contractors have scheduled projects with city property owners — and will reconnect with them and clearly explain the process so they can proceed with the scheduled relocations. However, further outreach to city property owners will proceed after further coordination between the utility, its contractors, and city staff.
