Where To See Santa In Fairfax City This Christmas Season

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Visits and pictures with Santa are treasured traditions for many Fairfax City families. For them, there’s nothing quite like seeing jolly old St. Nick live and in person.

In the Fairfax City area, kids have several chances:

• Claus and Cookies: Donate your own cookie and get your photo taken with Santa, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., at Old Town Hall, 3999 University Drive in Fairfax. Pre-registration is required. Tickets can be purchased online or at the following Parks and Rec facilities: City Hall, Stacey C. Sherwood Community Center, and Green Acres.
• Photos with Santa at Fair Oaks Mall: Nov. 9 to Dec. 24
• Black Santa at Fair Oaks Mall: Nov. 21-22 and Dec. 20-21
• Photos with Santa at Tysons Corner Center: through Dec. 24
• Pet Photos with Santa at Tysons Corner Center: Nov. 20, 27, Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Santa Breakfast at Tysons Corner Center: 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 2
• Sensory-friendly Santa Cares at Tysons Corner Center with Autism Speaks: Dec. 3
• Photos with Santa at Tysons Galleria: Nov. 16 to Dec. 24
• Pet photos with Santa at Tysons Galleria: Mondays and Tuesdays Nov. 20 to Dec. 5
• Sensory-friendly Santa Cares Day at Tysons Galleria: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 3

Santa arrived Nov. 5 at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Santa’s Wonderland and will hold court through Christmas Eve. Reservations are encouraged.

Santa will also be at Macy’s stores in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Orlando. In Washington, D.C., Santa won't be paying a visit, but there is a holiday window display from Nov. 16 to Jan. 1.

Santa is coming to Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores on Black Friday, which is Nov. 24 this year. In Northern Virginia stores, kids can begin writing letters to Santa starting on Nov. 24 through Dec. 20 or attend a holiday breakfast on select dates.

JC Penney stores, including stores in Springfield and Fairfax, are offering professional portraits with Santa through Dec. 18.
