WATCH: Woman Pulled From Sinking Car In Chantilly
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to reports that a car had driven into a pond and was sinking on Sunday.

CHANTILLY, VA – Rescuers formed a human chain to pull a woman from a sinking car in Chantilly on Sunday.
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department shared footage of the scene they found at Walney Road and Westfield Blvd on Sunday afternoon, where a driver had crashed into a pond.
The car was tipped forward and sinking when 3 rescuers entered the water, later joined by a fourth. They formed a chain to reach the driver and bring her safely to shore.

According to Fairfax Fire and Rescue, the woman was treated for minor injuries. In the video, 2 other people can be seen walking away from the vehicle in the water. It’s unclear if they were passengers or people who had been attempting a rescue.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
