Wrap Buddies Kickstarter Campaign a $5K Hit For Virginia Man
Bret Wortman, chief of software development firm the Damascus Group in Fairfax, has already surpassed his original goal.

FAIRFAX, VA — It's difficult to imagine that the head of a software development firm, with all that entails, would have difficulty doing a simple thing such as wrapping a gift.
Yet that was the case Bret Wortman, president and CEO of the Damascus Group, based in Fairfax.
So he went to work figuring out an easier way, and after experimenting with various 3-D models on his computer, came up with a simple contraption he now calls Wrap Buddies — two plastic pieces that anchor a roll of wrapping paper on both ends that enables clean rollouts, much like larger devices used in professional gift wrapping.
