On Sunday, November 18, 2012, members of Congregation Adat Reyim and 14 Burke area congregations and groups participated in the Burke Hunger CROP Walk. The walk raises funds and awareness of poverty and hunger around the world.
The Burke Area CROP Hunger Walk is one of more than 2,000 CROP Walks held each year as part of a nationwide effort to raise money and awareness for hunger relief.
Congregation Adat Reyim had 19 walkers who raised more than $1,100 in 2012! The total amount raised was nearly $24,000 with close to $6,000 going to the local efforts of ECHO and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, who help many of our neediest neighbors.
