• Pedestrian improvements added near Silverbrook Elementary in time for new school year (ffxnow.com) — New pedestrian safety upgrades at Silverbrook Road and Crosspointe Drive aim to better protect walkers heading to Silverbrook Elementary and the Crosspointe pool, including a new refuge island, crosswalks, and ADA-compliant ramps. The project, partly driven by the 2011 death of Fairfax Station resident Michael Henley, uses county funding dedicated to small-scale pedestrian and bicycle improvements.
