Robinson, South County Students Win Science Fair Awards

Eighteen students from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) won special awards at the 2011 Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.

Special awards were presented to the following students:

Darwin Hanchin Li of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), Virginia Dental Association Grand Prize award and Environmental Sciences award, Stockholm Junior Water prize, and U.S. Navy-Marine Corps award.

Jee In Seo of TJHSST, Virginia Dental Association award in Chemistry.

Michael Collins of South County Secondary School, Virginia Dental Association award in Engineering:  Electrical and Mechanical.

Steven Lyle of Lake Braddock Secondary School, Virginia Dental Association award in Energy and Transportation, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Applied Sciences award.

Jun Hong Kim of TJHSST, Virginia Dental Association award in Environmental Management.

Benjamin Cobb and John Moran of Chantilly High School, Virginia Dental Association team award in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Virginia Biotechnology Association award.

Michael Nguyen and Kevin Zhou of TJHSST, American Psychological Association award.

Archis Bhandarkar of TJHSST, Mu Alpha Theta award.

Noor Siddiqui and Katelyn Mueller of Robinson Secondary School, the Regional Ricoh Corporation Sustainable Development award.

Abby Schneider and Sarah Quattrocki of Marshall High School, Society for In Vitro Biology award.

Kelly Martins of Langley High School, Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
