Arson Investigated in Merrifield House Fire
Charges are pending for four juveniles involved in a Merrifield fire found to be arson, Fairfax County fire investigators say.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Charges are pending for a Sunday house fire found to be arson at the 2800 block of Hyson Lane in the Merrifield section of Fairfax County.
Just before 7 p.m. Sunday., Fairfax and Arlington County fire and rescue units responded to a 911 call and found the fire in a front room of the home. Bystanders said they had seen four children playing in the home before to the fire, but fire units found that no one had been home during the incident. There were no injuries.
The neighbor that reported the fire witnessed four juveniles fleeing from the scene. Fire investigators found the incident was arson, and the charges are pending for the four juveniles.

Damages are approximately $128,587, but Red Cross assistance was not needed.
