Falls Church Area Man Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize, Twice
He bought a ticket at Asia Supermarket on Wilson Boulevard.

Hugo Covarrubias knows what it’s like to win $100,000 in the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 game. He’s done it twice.
The Falls Church-area man matched all five numbers in the July 17 day drawing to win the game’s top prize. The first time he did it was in October 2011.
”I’m very surprised to win a second time,” he told Virginia Lottery officials as he claimed his most recent prize, in a news release issued Tuesday by the lottery.

He bought his latest winning ticket at Asia Supermarket, 6216 Wilson Blvd. The winning numbers were 4-12-19-27-29. He selected his numbers using a combination of family birthdays.
Covarrubias said he plans to retire in a few years, so the winnings will come in handy.

Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11 p.m. The chances of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
