Falls Church Is Fastest-Growing County In America: Census
Falls Church may be small, but its population growth rate was the highest in the country last year.

Falls Church is often called the Little City, but last year it was the fastest-growing county in the country. That's a big deal considering it had been ranked 1473th the year prior.
The Census Bureau's newly-released 2017 population estimates indicate Falls Church City had the highest population growth percentage of counties with populations of 10,000 or more. Falls Church is an independent city, but for these purposes it is a county equivalent.
From 2016 to 2017, Falls Church saw a 5.2 percent population increase, or 715 people. This growth was mostly due to an increase in net migration, with 492 more people moving in than out of the Little City in the last year.
