Mini Target Store In City of Falls Church To Close
Target intends to close its small format Target location on South Washington Street, which opened in 2018.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Target small format store within the City of Falls Church will close later in the spring, the retailer confirmed to Patch.
The store below the 455 at Tinner Hill apartments (500 S. Washington Street, Falls Church, VA) had opened in March 2018. Target spokesperson Kayla Castañeda told Patch in an email the store will close May 13.
"The decision to close one of our stores isn’t something we take lightly," Castañeda shared. "It’s an action we take only after multiple years of working to improve performance.

The store has about 30 part-time and full-time employees. Those employees will be given the chance to work at nearby Target location. There is a location just outside city limits at 6100 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church, VA.
Shoppers at the Falls Church Tinner Hill location are encouraged to visit other locations or use the Target website or app. Castañeda said Target remains committed to the DC metro area with over 50 stores operating.

The 26,000-square-foot Falls Church Tinner Hill store is much smaller than a normal Target location. Another small format store in the DC area in College Park, Maryland is slated to close.
While the Falls Church Tinner Hill store is open, hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
