Missing Teens Could Be 'At Risk' From Gangs: Police

Detectives are searching for the two, who both disappeared in September.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Fairfax County police are asking for the public's help in locating two missing teenagers who may be involved in gang activity.

The police said Wednesday that the disappearances of Edvin Escobar Mendez, 17, of Falls Church, and Sergio Arita Triminio, 14, of Alexandria, may be connected, and that "there is new information to indicate they may be at risk."

Mendez was reported missing on Sept. 1 and Triminio was not reported missing until Oct. 4, but investigators determined he had been missing since Sept. 27. "Since that point, officers and detectives have led extensive efforts to find them," the police said.
