Police: Woman Awakens to Footsteps in Home

Fairfax County Police say a woman awoke to the sounds of a burglar in her home early Thursday.

The burglary took place in the 2200 block of McLean Park Road in the Idylwood neighborhood of Falls Church in Fairfax County.

The incident took place in the middle of the night, at about 3:23 a.m., police said.

That’s when the homeowner awoke to the noise of footsteps in her home, according to police. She saw a white male, in his 20s, with dark hair and dark clothing in a hallway, police said.

The suspect ran out of the home and nothing was taken, according to police. The victim did not need any medical attention.
