Commissioners asked for more information ahead of a Sept. 16 meeting, signaling interest in flexible zoning that balances neighborhood character, parking, and economic opportunity for residents.
   

• 7 Brew begins work on new location (farmvilleherald.com) — A former Huddle House at 1800 South Main Street is being transformed into a 7 Brew drive-thru coffee stand, with construction targeted for completion by late November. Town permits are already in place, and the franchise owner says Farmville’s welcoming response helped secure the location, promising a wide range of specialty drinks in time for the holiday season.
   

• Clarke Welcomes Five Women's Tennis Signees (longwoodlancers.com) — Longwood University in Farmville is bolstering its women’s tennis roster with four experienced transfers and one freshman for the 2026–27 season. Coach Charlotte Clarke says the mix of graduate players, underclass transfers, and a Richmond-area recruit should build on last year’s success and help the Lancers continue pushing for conference championships.
