• Town contracts with recycling vendor (farmvilleherald.com) — Farmville has locked in a new recycling contract with Meridian Waste Virginia, keeping curbside collection going after the STEPS Recycling Center closed this summer. The deal changes how materials are handled and adds steep contamination fees, so residents are urged to avoid greasy pizza boxes and trash in their bins. Town staff will collect recyclables and load them into a secure container for hauling.
