The Dominion Foundation gave $500,000 to 33 environmental initiatives in Va., including Friends of the Rappahannock's Student Stream Team.
The Dominion Foundation contributed $25,000 to support Friends of the Rappahannock’s Student Stream Team (SST) with environmental stewardship and educational projects along the river’s tidal region and watershed, such as installing rain barrels and conducting river cleanups. The SST will involve hundreds of student volunteers from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula regions of Virginia. Also, Friends of the Rappahannock will develop education materials and presentations in conjunction with the SST program focused on tidal ecosystems, water quality, wildlife habitat and ongoing restoration activities.
The Dominion Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources, parent company of Dominion Virginia Power.
