FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A GoFundMe campaign is raising money for a family of three who were displaced by a fire at a Fredericksburg apartment building on Saturday.
Not only did Dan and Cali Van Grouw lose all of their personal belongings, a dog named Bear and their cat perished in the fire.
On Sunday, Bruce Van Grouw launched a Go Fund Me to help his son and daughter-in-law. As of 10 a.m. on Friday, more than $30,000 had been raised toward the campaign's goal of $35,000.

"Dan and Cali are parents to a 4-year-old daughter, and Cali is expecting their second child in just two months," according to the GoFundMe campaign, which was started by a family member. "Instead of preparing for a new baby and enjoying this special time, they are now facing the unimaginable task of starting over from nothing — while carrying profound emotional loss."
Anyone who wishes to make a donation to help out the Van Grouw family can do so on their GoFundMe page.
