Bank Robbery Suspects in Custody in Stafford County
Deputies, detectives, K-9 units and a Maryland State Police helicopter searched the area for four hours Monday afternoon.

Two bank robbery suspects were in custody late Monday, according to Stafford County Police. The arrests resolved an hours-long manhunt that included resources from multiple law enforcement agencies and even a helicopter from Maryland State Police.
The robbery occurred at 3:31 p.m. at the Union 1st Market Bank, 1044 Warrenton Road. A subject had entered the bank and handed an employee a note demanding money. The subject fled the bank through a nearby field.
Police learned from witnesses that there were possibly two additional suspects. One suspect was found by police walking down Truslow Road and taken into custody.

More than four hours later, the two additional suspects were spotted in the woods in the area of Abel Lake and soon taken into custody.
In announcing the arrests, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office thanked the K-9 unit from Fredericksburg Police Department, the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the Maryland State Police Helicopter Unit.

Information about the suspects and their charges is expected to be released on Tuesday.
