Three UMW Hoops Players Make All CAC Teams

After posting impressive numbers, two dominating players from the women's team, plus one from the men's team, were selected to the all Capital Athletic Conference hoops teams.

UMW's McRae, Wimmer Named to All-CAC Women's Basketball First Team 

University of Mary Washington women's basketball players Jenna McRae and Katie Wimmer were named to the 2011 All-Capital Athletic Conference women's basketball first team, as voted on by the league's coaches and announced on Tuesday.

The two juniors finished the year averaging 12.9 (Wimmer) and 12.8 (McRae) points per game, and the pair will enter their senior seasons next fall just 11 and 10 points shy of 1,000 for their careers, respectively. This winter, Wimmer added 81 assists, 41 steals, and 5.4 rebounds per game. McRae added 6.4 rebounds, 46 assists, and 35 steals.

McRae was a first team all-conference selection last year as well, while Wimmer was the CAC Rookie of the Year two years ago.

UMW's Willis Named to All-CAC Men's Basketball Team

Freshman guard E.J. Willis was selected to the 2011 All-Capital Athletic Conference men's basketball team, as was voted on by the league's coaches and announced on Tuesday. The only freshman named to the first or second team, Willis was a member of the second team.

Willis led the Eagles with 11.4 points per game this season, averaging 4.8 rebounds per game. He also added 19 blocked shots and 18 steals for the Eagles, who won 16 games, seven more than last season.
