UMW Dedicating Dahlgren Campus Center
Speaker of the House Del. William Howell is the guest speaker for the Feb. 17 event.

The University of Mary Washington's new Dahlgren Campus Center for Education and Research will be dedicated during a ceremony at 4 p.m. Feb. 17.
Speaker of the House William Howell is the guest speaker and the event at the Dahlgren campus is open to the public. This is the university's third campus and it opened Jan. 3, and was created to support the advanced educational needs of the professionals on and near the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Dahlgren.
The 27-acre campus is near the Navy base in King George County and took amost two years to build. The campus is an anchor for the development of educational and research partnerships between the Navy base, other higher education institutions and the region’s businesses.

Other specials guests planned to attend are members of Gov. Bob McDonnell's administration, other legislators and members of the King George Board of Supervisors.
Right now, four state universities—George Mason, Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Tech—offer the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program video teleconfrencing-based courses at the two-story, 42,000-square-foot facility.
