Unapproved Pesticide Device Found In Fredericksburg Restaurant Kitchen: Inspections
Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors reported finding violations at four Fredericksburg restaurants they visited recently.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors found violations at 4 of the 13 Fredericksburg food establishments they visited recently.
Based on the inspection reports from the Rappahannock Area Health District for the period of Feb. 14, through Feb. 21, the following restaurants were reported to have Observations and Corrective Actions:
- Bearded Monkey
- Address: 564 Warrenton Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22406
- Observations/Corrective Actions: During a follow-up inspection on Feb. 19, 2026, the facility was monitored for compliance regarding previous violations, which included the lack of a certified food protection manager and a chemical sanitizing glass washer that was not properly sanitizing equipment.

- Address: 435 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
- Observations/Corrective Actions: On Feb. 18, 2026, inspectors observed an accumulation of food debris on the interior of the microwave and the ice machine. Additionally, an unapproved pesticide device (a "Hot Shot" no-pest strip) was found hanging in the kitchen and was required to be removed.

- Address: 3992 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22408
- Observations/Corrective Actions: During the Feb. 17, 2026, inspection, multiple priority violations were noted, including a handwashing sink that provided no water, an improper three-compartment sinking procedure where equipment was not being sanitized, and a lack of active managerial control regarding food holding temperatures.

- Address: 10109 Patriot Hwy., Fredericksburg, VA 22407
- Observations/Corrective Actions: On Feb. 17, 2026, inspectors cited the facility for physical facility maintenance issues, specifically a heavy accumulation of ice on the ceiling and piping of the walk-in freezer and several heavily scratched or stained cutting boards that were no longer easily cleanable.
