• New Roanoke College scholarship targets Southwest Virginia students (cardinalnews.org) — Galax residents planning to attend Roanoke College could automatically receive a new Southwest Virginia Scholars Award worth $5,000 per year for four years, starting with freshmen entering in 2027-28. The scholarship has no income requirements, applies to full-time in-person students from Galax and other regional localities, and is designed to ease tuition costs when combined with other grants and aid.
