Man Dies After Shooting Outside Groveton Apartment: Police
Police did not have any immediate information on a suspect after the shooting at Kings Garden apartments.
GROVETON, VA — Police are seeking information on a suspect after a homicide Monday night in the Groveton area, according to Fairfax County Police.
The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Kings Highway. Police found a man with apparent supper body gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died. Police identified the victim as Antonio Stewart, 35, of Alexandria.
Police later identified the location as the front parking lot of the Kings Garden apartments. Initial investigations show Stewart was walking in an area near his apartment. Moments later, several residents reported hearing gunshots and found Stewart lying on the sidewalk.

The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide following an autopsy. There was no immediate information on a suspect. Detectives are examining evidence, following up on leads and canvassing the area.
Police say this was the 15th homicide in Fairfax County this year. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2, or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
