Alexandria Dad Drives To NC, Shoots Man Who Dated Daughter: Cops
A sheriff's office in North Carolina said a father drove from Alexandria and shot a man who was dating his adult daughter.

HUBERT, NC — An Alexandria man is facing a murder charge after he allegedly drove to North Carolina and shot a person who was dating the man's adult daughter, according to the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
According to the sheriff's office, the shooting happened on July 5 at the Patriot Place Mobile Home Park in Hubert, North Carolina. According to sheriff's office investigation, James Patrick McAlee, 46, drove from Alexandria to confront Jared Musgrove, 27, about his relationship with McAlee's daughter.
The two men fought, and when they were separated, McAlee allegedly got a gun from his truck and shot Musgrove.

When the sheriff's office responded to a 911 call about the shooting around 3:18 a.m., deputies found Musgrove with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
The U.S. Marshal's Service and an Onslow County detective located and arrested McAlee on July 25. McAlee was charged with murder and taken to the Onslow County Detention Center with no bond. In a court appearance, McAlee's bond was set at $500,000 by a judge, according to WITN.

The sheriff's office did not specify a potential motive for the shooting and did not release the age of the woman at the center of the conflict.
