Alexandria Driver Dies In Crash On Interstate 395

No other vehicles were involved in the fatal Sunday crash on Interstate 395 in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Alexandria driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 395 Sunday, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash happened around 4:27 p.m. on northbound I-395 at exit 3B (Little River Turnpike). According to police, a 2019 Honda HR-V heading north had its left front tire blow out. This caused the vehicle to run off the right side of the road and strike the overpass support. Police said the blown-out tire had been a spare tire.

The driver, Eric G. Jones, 46, of Alexandria, died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt, according to police. No other vehicles were involved.

State police say the crash remains under investigation.
