Annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting Saturday

Get ready for the 28th annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting. It is scheduled for Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School in the “Little Theatre,” 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road.

• 7:45 – 9:15 Coffee, Doughnuts and Exhibits (SFDC will be exhibiting; please stop by to say “hello!”)
• 9:15 – 9:45 Welcome, Introductions & Presentations
• 9:45 – 10:00 County Priorities: Sharon Bulova, Chairman, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
• 10 – 10:15 Fairfax County Issues and Budget: Ed Long, Fairfax County Executive
• 10:15 – 10:45 Q/A Session
• 10:45 – 11:15 Mount Vernon School Current Issues and Challenges: Dr. Kim Dockery, Chief Academic Officer, FCPS & Dan Storck, School Board Representative, Mount Vernon District
• 11:15 – 12:30 Virtual Bus Tour: Gerry Hyland, Supervisor, Mount Vernon District
• 12 Noon – 12: 15 Fort Belvoir Update (during Bus Tour): Colonel Michelle D. Mitchell, Garrison Commander, Fort Belvoir
• 12:30 – 1: 00 Final Question and Answer Session & Conclusion
