Armed Man Terrorizes Driver In Hybla Valley Encounter

A driver cut off and pointed a gun at another driver, police say.

Fairfax County Police say a driver shot another Tuesday night in Hybla Valley.

Around 8:40 p.m., the victim was driving in the 2600 block of Sherwood Hall Lane when another car cut him off. He was forced to swerve and stop next to the car. Police say the suspect then pointed a gun at the victim, who started to drive away.

At that time, a sound believed to be a gunshot rang out. The driver was not injured, but the car was potentially grazed by a bullet. The shell casing has not been located at the scene.

The driver was described as a man in his 30s, with short hair and driving a black Hyundai.

Burglary

4600 block of Steadman Place, 7/03/2018, 4:45 am. The victim was asleep and woke to someone shutting her bedroom door. She shouted and her roommates came to help, cornering the subject until police arrived. No one was injured and Jairo Mena Guevara, 27, of Maryland, was arrested for burglary.

  • 2700 block of Arlington Drive, packages from residence
  • 7800 block of Audubon Avenue, dog from residence

  • Richmond Highway/Arlington Drive, cash from vehicle
