WOODLAWN, VA — A fire at a garden-style apartment building Friday morning was intentionally set, according to Fairfax County fire investigators.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue had responded around 7:57 a.m. to a fire alarm in the 4200 block of Buckman Road. Units found smoke coming from the first floor and located a small fire in a first floor hallway. The fire was quickly put out with no injuries to residents or firefighters.

Once fire investigators determined the fire was intentional, a suspect was identified and arrested. Brant Barnett, 58, was charged with burning of an occupied dwelling and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
