Assault Of Minor In Lincolnia Area Leads To Charges: Police

Fairfax County Police charged a Centreville man with assault after he allegedly grabbed a child's hand outside an apartment building.

LINCOLNIA, VA — Fairfax County Police have made an arrest in an assault Wednesday in Lincolnia.

Officers responded to the 5000 block of Caryn Court when a man approached a group of children outside an apartment building and showed a knife. Police say the man grabbed the hand of one child. The child was able to break away, and the children fled. The child was not injured.

Police located the man nearby and arrested him. Kevin Moran-Perez, 22, of Centreville, was charged with assault and possession of a schedule I or II drug and held without bond.

The incident was earlier called an attempted abduction, but police reclassified it as an assault.
