Carjacking In Groveton Area Leads To Arrest: Police

A suspect believed to be involved in two carjackings was stopped by Fairfax County Police Monday morning.

GROVETON, VA — A carjacking in the Groveton area was thwarted by Fairfax County Police Monday morning.

Officers responded to a carjacking around 9:30 a.m. that happened at South Kings Highway and Woodstone Place. Police say the suspect carjacked a Honda in DC before driving into Fairfax County. The vehicle stolen at South Kings Highway and Woodstone Place was a Chevy Tahoe.

Police found the vehicle, leading to a pursuit that stopped in the area of Interstates 495/95.

Officers took the armed suspect into custody. Teon De’Markus, 28, of Maryland, was charged with carjacking, possession of a firearm by a felon, use of a firearm in a felony, disregarding police command to stop, two counts of hit-and-run and receiving stolen goods. He was held without bond.
