Carjacking Of 81-Year-Old Woman In Hybla Valley Leads To Arrest: Police

Fairfax County Police have charged a suspect after a carjacking involving an 81-year-old victim.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — The carjacking and assault of an 81-year-old woman in Hybla Valley Saturday has resulted in an arrest, according to Fairfax County Police.

Around 4:50 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the carjacking in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway. According to police, a man assaulted the victim, stole property and fled in her gray Ford van.

The victim was treated for minor injuries on the scene. No weapon was shown or implied during the incident.

Police found the van wrecked in the 2200 block of Beacon Hill Road. The suspect was located with help from a K-9 unit, patrol officers and the Fairfax County Police helicopter.

Terrell Hardy, 34, of Maryland was charged with carjacking and two counts of hit-and-run and was held on no bond.

A second suspect remains wanted, but a suspect description is not available. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
