Celebrate the holiday season with Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic

Holiday Concerts Sunday December 7th and Saturday December 13th

Celebrate the holiday season as Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, Maestro Ulysses James and the NOVA Community Chorus directed by Dr. Mark Whitmire join forces to present Holst’s charming and festive fantasy of well-known carols, Christmas Day. Soprano Laura Mann will continue in the holiday spirit singing beautiful versions of holiday favorites. On a different note, the Chorus and orchestra will also present Vaughn Williams’ colorful, romantic, serene, and happy Five Mystical Songs based on the poetry of English poet George Herbert - featuring guest Baritone Aurelius Gori. Finally, well-known local pianist Lydia Frumkin will perform Alfred Schnittke’s brilliant virtuosic Concerto for Piano and Strings with the Philharmonic.

Two performances will be offered to our friends in both DC and Alexandria
