DC, NoVA Weekend Events: Water Lantern Festival, DC Funk Parade

This weekend features the Fairfax County 4-H Fair And Carnival, a Summer Sidewalk Sale, Washington Commanders Training Camp and more events.

WASHINGTON, DC — It's the first weekend of August, and there are plenty of events to enjoy around the Northern Virginia and DC region.

In Loudoun County, Middleburg will host its 16th Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale over three days, and Washington Commanders will get their next chance to attend the next Training Camp date in Ashburn. Fredericksburg has its FXBG Summer Restaurant Week and Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair continuing through the weekend.

DC has plenty going on, from DC Funk Parade to the start of Hamilton and Citi Open through the weekend. Other notable events in the region include the Water Lantern Festival, Friendship Firehouse Festival, Purple Heart Commemoration and Fairfax County 4-H Fair And Carnival.
