Woman Charged With Murder Of Brother In Groveton Area: Police
Detectives are investigating the death of a man who was stabbed at an apartment building.

GROVETON, VA ā A woman has been arrested after a homicide in the Groveton area Friday, according to Fairfax County Police.
Police responded to a stabbing report at an apartment building in the 3000 block of Furman Lane around 8:30 a.m. Friday. The victim was found with upper body trauma. Charles Alvarez, 32, of Alexandria was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigations determined the incident was a domestic homicide. Detectives identified the victim's sister, Sarah Esmeralda Viera, 23, of Alexandria, as the suspect. She was charged with murder and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. She is being held without bond.

Detectives continue to investigate the events leading to the stabbing. The medical examiner will confirm the cause and manner of death.
