Celebrate the holidays with Carlyle House this season by visiting us this year. Having family in town and looking for something to do? Come by and take a tour of the house decorated for the holidays. We are open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-4pm and Sundays from 12pm-4pm. We will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day this year.
We also have two wonderful events coming up in December! Visit Old Town on Saturday December 7th to enjoy Alexandria’s rich Scottish heritage and see the Scottish Walk Parade march past Alexandria’s oldest stone building, Carlyle House. After the parade, enter the museum gates and step back in time for a free open house in the spirit of the holiday season. Admission to the house is free though donations are welcome. A week later we will be partnering with our fellow Historic Alexandria Sites for Yuletide by Candlelight on December 14th from 5pm-9pm. Experience the holiday season with festive activities and fare at historic sites throughout Alexandria! Enjoy seasonal decorations, refreshments, and take advantage of a 10% discount at the participating Museum Shops! A cash bar for adult beverages will be located at Gadsby's Tavern Museum. Ticket includes admission to Gadsby's Tavern Museum, Carlyle House Historic Park, Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden, and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary. A free shuttle will run between all participating sites throughout the event!
