Fairfax Schools' Food Distribution To Pause For Winter Break
The school district is offering multi-day meals before food distribution temporarily stops for winter break.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County Public Schools will not offer food distribution during winter break for its students and county children 18 and under.
The school district will provide access to meals through larger meal kits before winter break. The last food distribution day before winter break is Tuesday, Dec. 22.
Here are the meals being offered in the days before winter break:

- Friday, Dec. 18: Grab & Go locations will offer four days of breakfast and lunch, bus routes will offer four days of breakfast and lunch
- Monday, Dec. 31: Grab & Go locations will not distribute any meals, bus routes will offer four days of breakfast and lunch
- Tuesday, Dec. 22: Meal Kits sites will offer 14-day meal kits, bus routes will offer four days of breakfast and lunch, Grab & Go locations will offer 14-day meal kits
There will be no food distribution between Dec. 23 and Jan. 1. Bus routes providing daily breakfast and lunch will resume on Monday, Jan. 4. Grab & Go locations providing daily breakfast and lunch will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 5. On Wednesday, Jan. 6, sites that distribute seven-day meal kits will resume.
With most students in virtual learning, FCPS is providing meals at no cost to students through June 30, 2021. FCPS students and any Fairfax County child 18 and under can get meals at the Grab & Go sites or bus stop routes. No-cost breakfast and lunch are also available weekdays at schools with in-person instruction. Meals contain protein, grains, fruits or vegetables, and low-fat or fat-free milk. Adults can pick up meals for children and let staff know how many children's meals they need. Adults can receive meals for $2.
