Fatal I-295 Shooting: Start with GW Parkway Altercation? Police
NBC-4 reports that D.C. Police are hoping someone saw possible altercation between black SUV and dark-colored vehicle last Thursday morning.
Detectives from the DC Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are hoping that someone saw an altercation between passengers in a black SUV and a dark-colored vehicle last Thursday morning along the George Washington Parkway, NBC-4 reports.
The altercation between the two vehicles would have taken place before a fatal shooting that took the life of Pedro Melendez Alvarado, 50, who was killed when a passenger in a dark vehicle opened fire on his SUV.

He was driving the black SUV from Tulane Drive (see map), onto the George Washington Parkway and across the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge to I-295 North at Exit 1, where the shooting took place Thursday morning, the TV station reports. The shooting took place at about 8:51 a.m., police say.
Alvarado was on his way to work. His brother-in-law, a passenger in the SUV, was injured in the shooting.

NBC-4 reports that police are estimating that the altercation between the two cars likely took place beginning at about 8:40 a.m.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
