Fatal Shooting In Hybla Valley Leads To Charges For Man
Police arrested and charged Tuesday's shooting suspect after a bystander detained him on the scene until officers arrived.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Fairfax County Police have charged a suspect in a fatal Hybla Valley shooting Tuesday.
Police had responded to a parking lot in the 7400 block of Vernon Square around 1:07 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found the victim with multiple upper body gunshot wounds, and he died of his injuries at the hospital.
The victim was identified as D’Mari Norris, 21, of Alexandria.

Police said a bystander held down the suspect until officers arrived. Francisco Juares, 22, of Alexandria, was charged with second degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Based on preliminary investigations, detectives believe the men had an interaction that led to Juares shooting Norris. Police do not know how Juares and Norris know each other.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
