Fatal Shooting In Woodlawn Parking Lot Leads To Charges For Teen

WOODLAWN, VA — A 17-year-old is the suspect charged in a fatal parking lot shooting in Woodlawn last Friday.

Fairfax County Police responded to the shooting around 8:29 p.m. Friday in the 8700 block of Sacramento Drive. Police found the victim with an upper body gunshot wound, and he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Joshua Fieldings, 25.

Police believe Fieldings and the 17-year-old suspect had an argument. A gunshot was heard when Fieldings left a business around 8:20 p.m. A witness told police the 17-year-old was seen fleeing from the scene.

Fairfax County Police arrested of the 17-year-old at a Lorton home late Friday. He was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and underage possession of a firearm and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. Police recovered what they believe was the gun used in the shooting.
