Fire Extinguished Overnight At Riverside Elementary Trailer

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue extinguished a trailer fire overnight Thursday at Riverside Elementary School in Mount Vernon.

Around 1:17 a.m., units responded to the trailer fire in the 8400 block of Old Mount Vernon Road. After smoke was showing upon arrival, units located the fire and put it out. No fire was determined to be in the building, and no one was injured.

Fire investigators classified the fire as accidental. The fire started in the HVAC system of a trailer. Damages were estimated to be $20,500.
