Fire Fills Commercial Building With Smoke In Mount Vernon

No injuries have been reported in a Wednesday afternoon fire in the Mount Vernon area, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue is responding to a commercial fire in the Mount Vernon area Wednesday. No injuries have been reported.

The fire happened at a commercial building in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway. Firefighters located the blaze in a trash compactor connected to the building. The fire caused the building to fill with smoke.

Firefighters have put out the fire and do not believe it has any extension.
