Fort Hunt Teacher Faces Child Porn Charge

ARLINGTON, VA—Arlington County Police have arrested a teacher at Sandburg Middle School in Fort Hunt on a child pornography possession charge. Robert Keith Rowe, 56, of Arlington, is being held without bond at the Arlington County jail.

After receiving a tip about Rowe, a detective looked into the man's online activities. Authorities arrested and charged him Thursday, March 15 after receiving a search warrant and finding evidence in his home.

Since 2014, Rowe had been a English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher at Sandburg, a Fairfax County Public Schools spokesperson told Covering the Corridor.

According to NBC Washington, Sandburg Middle School sent a letter to families saying, "At this time, we have no reason to believe that any of our students are in any way involved or directly affected."

Arlington County detectives do not believe Rowe had any inappropriate contact with children but are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information related to this case should contact Detective G.
