Free Mount Vernon Admission By Reservation Offered On 2 Dates
Guests can visit Mount Vernon for free on Presidents Day and Washington's birthday by reserving tickets in advance.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — George Washington's Mount Vernon will continue the tradition of free admission days for Presidents Day and Washington's birthday, but advanced registration will be required.
The free admission days will happen on Presidents Day (Monday, Feb. 15) and George Washington's birthday (Monday, Feb. 22). Tickets will be available to reserve starting at 12 a.m. on Feb. 12. Mount Vernon members can reserve limited amounts of tickets starting at 12 a.m. on Feb. 1.
Entry to Mount Vernon allows guests to tour the grounds, gardens, and museum. There will be no mansion interior tours on either day due to capacity restrictions, but guest services staff and historical character interpreters will be around the estate to answer questions. The 1st Virginia Regiment will perform military demonstrations on the Bowling Green, and General Washington will be on hand to inspect the troops.

The Presidential wreath-laying ceremony will not be open to the public in person. The event will be livestreamed on the Mount Vernon website, Facebook, and YouTube channel. The George Washington National Birthday Celebration will also be held virtually on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Funds will support the restoration and preservation of George Washington's estate.
Capacity will be limited on both free admission days, and admission tickets will not be sold in person. Guests who receive tickets in advance will be assigned an entry time. Mount Vernon guests must follow COVID-19 safety protocols, including a face covering requirement, bag policy and social distancing when possible.

When ticket sales open on Feb. 12, they can be reserved at mountvernon.org/birthdaytickets.
